Born in Frankfurt and shaped by experiences across continents, Kay’s creative journey has taken him from New Zealand (where he got his start at WETA Digital on King Kong) to Los Angeles, where he studied commercial directing at UCLA and the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg.
Since then, Kay has built a thriving international career directing award-winning campaigns for top brands and agencies. His work has been recognized at Cannes, New York Festivals, ADC Germany, and featured in Lürzer’s Archive. Along the way, he’s collaborated with icons like Roger Moore, Roger Federer, Ranveer Singh, and All-4-One.
Now based in Berlin, Kay brings humor, bold visual style, and a sharp eye for character to every project. For him, commercials are the perfect storytelling playground—a place where craft, creativity, and a great sense of fun collide.
