Gregoris Rentis is an award‑winning director and producer known for his dynamic work across commercials, drama, documentary, and music videos.
Originally making his mark in music videos, Gregoris transitioned into advertising with a kinetic and stylized visual approach, evident in his dance-heavy, sports-oriented, and food-centric commercials. He has directed campaigns for clients including: T‑Mobile, Aegean Airlines, IKEA, Lidl, Upfield, and P&G. He has collaborated with NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, legendary long-jumper Miltos Tentoglou, soccer stars James Rodríguez and Ayoub El Kaabi, Greece’s national basketball team, and football clubs Olympiacos and Panathinaikos. His work has been recognized in Epica Awards, NewYorkFestivals, ADC, Shots and Berlin Music Video Awards.
His first documentary feature Dogwatch, exploring the lives of mercenaries protecting vessels from pirate attacks along the Somali coastline, won the Silver Alexander award in Thessaloniki Documentary Film Festival, Best Cinematography in Moscow Documentary Film Festival and screened in competition in Visions Du Réel, True/False and Raindance to high critical acclaim. It also received two nominations at the Iris Hellenic Academy Awards for Best Documentary and Best Directorial Debut.
He holds an MEng in Electrical Engineering from Imperial College London and an MFA in Film Directing from California Institute of the Arts. Ηis graduation short film Sundown premiered in Rotterdam Film Festival. Additionally, he co-owns Athens-based production companies Topcut-Modiano and BYRD.
